Tactile Feedback Design
Stunt Dog was created for the Immersion Corporation. If you use a mouse, joystick, steering wheel or medical device that gives you tactile feedback, Immersion probably created the technology inside it. The are the primary engineers of haptic, or force feedback, technology.

We designed Stunt Dog to showcase different effects that could be programmed into mice containing Immersion’s tactile feedback.

Poor Stunt Dog! His life is one cartoon catastrophe after another. And the user can feel it all through the mouse. When Stunt Dog drives off a cliff. When Stunt Dog bounces on a tightrope between two skyscrapers, When the dynamite on Stunt Dog’s back ignites while he is ice skating.

Stunt Dog was a wonderful collaboration with some of the best creative minds in media. Drew Takahashi (the founder of Colossal Pictures) conceived Stunt Dog. Chuck Gammage (who also created Roger Rabbit) created and drew the Stunt Dog character. David Carty (who has masterminded most of the engineering achievements at Animatrix) made it all work technically. And Jennifer Saffo (the woman who headed up the original marketing teams at Adobe and Aldus) was our visionary client at Immersion.
