A Comprehensive Corporate System
We created the front end for a complete corporate system at Express. It integrated Merchandise Planning, Purchasing, Distribution, and Accounting.

It tracked each garment, seasonal color palettes, and all vendor and factory history.We spent a year on site in Columbus, Ohio working with Express, Price Waterhouse and IBM.

We interviewed and observed the users-the buyers, controllers and managers who would be using the system. We analyzed their existing systems and their workarounds. We created prototypes right from the beginning, so execs and the users could see and use the systems. This not only improved the design, but created enthusiasm and support right from the beginning.

We delivered a 'cookbook' at the end of this project, and it's
something that we have integrated into our process ever since. From the day we began, we documented fonts, color, logo elements, vocabulary, style conventions, layout specs, naming conventions, sample files, and source material. For a large system such as this one, it was essential.
